The Canadian Federation of Independent Business just released its Quarterly Business Barometer today. It shows the index has fallen in June, back to the levels displayed for most of 2006. That translates to 2-3% growth in the economy.
Overall, the report says, 40% of small business owners say their firms are doing better than one year ago while 24%Â they are much worse. Here is the kicker: about 42% expect stronger performance during the next three months and about 49% of the small business owners expect stronger performance.
Geographically, it is the business owners out in Western Canada who are the most optimistic. NS and PEI business owners are not so optimistic. Is this the result of the employee exodus westward?
